What's in the bag????

I figured since I have gotten a few emails about what I use and the equipment I currently have, I would just make a blog post about it.

Right now, I am missing a few things...but don't fret...They will be in my hands by the end of next year.

So here we go, This is what I currently have and use all the time:

My bag

The new bag that I will have by the end of this year:

The 2 camera bodies that I have:

The Canon 20D and the Canon 50D

This would be the Canon 24-70mm F 2.4 L series Lens

This is the 70-200mm F 2.4 Image Stabilizer L series lens
This is the Canon 85mm F1.8 lens (not L series but is awesome)

And this is one of my favorites, The Canon 50mm F 1.4 lens (also not L series but also amazing)

My Meter/various other little things:

Battery Chargers x4

Batteries x4

Circular Polarizer

My light meter Seckonic L 358

My Lightstand bag (the other bag I lug around )

Westcott Air Cushioned light stand

Photogenic umbrella

5 in 1 reflectors

other lens hood x2

There are other little things here and there that are in there, but they are cords and things like that, so no point in posting photos of those.

Here is the lens I should have soon (by the end of next year)

The Canon 16-35mm F2.8 L series lens

I rent this all the time for various shoots and love it so soon enough, it will be mine! Mwahaha...okay just kidding.

Well, I think that's about it for now. Next year, I will have newer and improved things and will update again I'm sure.

Love and Smiles,
Amanda

The New Baby

No I am not talking about the cuddly, cute, and cooing kind.

I am talking about the clicking, flashing and shutter snapping kind!!!

I came home Monday to find this beauty waiting for me :) :)

Pretty sweet huh?
Shes one of the latest additions to the Canon SLR family and shes great. Now i have the 20D and the 50D, although my 20D will be going bye bye soon and I will be getting either the Canon 5D MarkII or the 1D MarkIII.....but that will be later next year I hope.

She really is great though, lots more features and a little more for me to learn....so I am headed back to do just that. I will be snapping pictures around here this afternoon if the weather allows me.....its been a little blustery out.

WELCOME FALL!!! Thank God it's finally getting here. I grew up in Upstate NY so I miss the cooler seasons! Keyword: Seasons.....so I am STILL trying to get used to being down here (its been 5 years.....oops)

Hope everyone has a great week!!! Smile and Laugh

October 1st-Surgery

Hey Guys!

I don't think I posted this since I am a little behind (shame on me! I know....)
Tomorrow I have outpatient surgery to remove a form of skin cancer that I found out I had about 4 weeks ago. Hopefully there won't be a follow up surgery after this, but I won't know til next week sometime.

For those of you who don't know....this isn't new to me. I found out I had stage II/III Melanoma a little over a year ago. The first mini surgery went well, had some stitches and all was fine. Then when those biopsy results came back, I found out it was a little deeper than they thought previously. I found out a few weeks before we left for our Italy Honeymoon. We scheduled a Lymph Node Biopsy and had surgery the DAY AFTER we came back, May 20th 2007. It was exhausting to say the least. The Lymph Node Biopsy was very important in order to determine if it was spreading and where. They spent a few hours going over procedures with me and then sent me down to radiology in the hospital to be injected with the dye that would be used to see if my lymph nodes were carrying it.

The surgery was on my lower and upper right groin and mid side of my right thigh. I would post photos, but they aren;t "blog" friendly....not sure who would pass out and who wouldn't hahaha.

Anyways, it was painful to walk about (thus why they waited til after we came back from Italy) and I had 4 stitches in each groin incision and 10 in the thigh. For a tiny mole (what it started as)...it was a very very big incision as it was further out as well.

I was cleared from Cancer altogether in July 2007. I have since had a recurrence 2 times, this being the 3rd. The surgery I have tomorrow isn't a lymph node biopsy like before, but a mini surgery to find out if its spreading and then would come a lymph node biopsy IF i need it. I don't think I do and neither do they, but we will see in a week or so.

Just wanted to update you all and hope you keep me in your thoughts and let's hope this is the last time.

Mark and Kelly a.k.a-My Parents

My parents came down the other day to spend the day with me and decided they wanted to have their photos done. So we did them right in my yard and had fun too! You should see some of the outtakes....but I can't post them because they will probably kill me for it haha.

Maybe tomorrow. :)

Here are the beautiful people who raised me and I love dearly:

My personal favorite is above....although my mom has somewhat of a fake smile...its just a great photo of them!

Photos of our pup Ty

Ty and I were home the other day so I wanted to get some photos of him since he has gotten older and grown a little. We were playing around, Plus, I wanted to see how good he would be for me since going to obedience classes and learning all the basic manners for a dog. Oh, and he will be 10 months old on October 1st.

SO luckily, when I said sit, he sat and I would say look and he would look at the camera. Now I know how to get him to sit still for photographs. Plus I have something in mind for Christmas cards this year, and since this is his first Christmas with us here, I want to make sure he looks because the cats sure as heck wont! Haha

So heeeereeee's Ty (ya know, like, Hereeeeeee's Johnny? haha I am a goofball)

Isn't he so handsome :)

More blogs coming soon!!!
