Baby Brooke

I was so excited when The Harris Family told me they wanted to be a part of my baby club! You may remember Catriona, Mike, Reilly, and baby from this shoot.

Baby Brooke was born October 14th with dark hair and looked just perfect. Catriona emailed me shortly after (couple days) after she was born to schedule her shoot. That girl took no time to rest...haha. I was so honored to be asked and now as a part of our baby club, she gets 3 more shoots throughout the year and a pretty sweet storyboard at the end showing how much Brooke has grown throughout her 4 shoots!

Brooke's big sister Reilly is in some of these photos too, she is such a great big sister. I can tell they are going to be the best of friends!

Thanks again guys, I cannot wait to watch her grow with you guys over a year.

Enjoy <3

The Smokey Mountains

As many of you have read, my husband Brendan took me on a surprise trip for my birthday about 2 weeks ago. And because I have been slacking, they are just NOW being blogged...tsk tsk, I know.

Anyways, despite it being pretty cold at night (roughly 40 degrees and humid, so feels even colder), we camped. It wasn't too bad, but Ty (our 11 month old pup) was quite cold. He has never been out of Florida, so he wasn't used to feeling that coldness.

We grew up in Upstate NY so the cold is something we are used to, but sleeping outside in it was a different story. Overall though, it was beautiful to be up there and see all the wonderful colors.

Of course, here are some photos :)

Me and the pup

beautiful creeks up there

it's playtime mom!

Love this picture of him!

It was a potty break so he needed to let some energy out

Cute family photo. I just had this one printed :)

We couldnt believe Ty was climbing because he's a little on the timid side, but he did GREAT!

The Goodyears

No folks...not talking about some spankin new tires.... I am of course, talking about a family I have the wonderful opportunity to photograph about 2 weeks ago down in Palm Bay.

Cameron and Keri are engaged and are ready to get married in March. They really wanted some family photos of themselves with Cameron's son Chase, so I got the chance to capture them.

The three of them are not only confident, but they are a very very handsome family, so capturing their outer beauty was no problem. Their inner beauty was just as simple. They are a very laid back, caring, and loving family. They are very sincere and always want to help people out, and their personalities showed. We trailed off into the woody area to get some shots and get a "lil" dirty. Although....I think i lucked out since I was the only one to really get in the dirt...how does that always happen?
I almost sat on a cactus (don't ask...) and cut my knee pretty good on a small branch on the ground that I didnt see when I was crouching...but no worries. All that matters was that the shots came out great.

Thanks so much Cameron, Keri and Chase for being great sports, I can't wait to work with you all again!

So without further or do....Here is the beautiful family!

sorry guys

Sorry I have been a little behind guys. Monday was my birthday....can you guess my age? It's not hard since I think my birth year is posted somewhere....lol

anyways, last tuesday when I got home, my husband was here...which is strange since he normally doesnt get home til around 6 after work and the gym...so i wondered.

He told me we weren't what we were originally supposed to do that weekend because we were leaving for the Smokies (tennessee side) the following morning!!! So that was a very cool surprise!

So we packed and left and I obviously didnt have much time to blog about it beforehand, but I do have lots and lots of photos to post later today or tomorrow. I am finishing a shoot from last week as well...so those will be up around the same time :)

Can't wait for you to see them all

and thanks to those who left me birthday wishes on myspace/facebook etc...

"War" wounds

Thursday I had a shoot with The Goodyears. I will be posting photos of that soon, but in the meantime I want to show you all my "War" wound for the evening....The shoot was at a place called Turkey Creek Sanctuary in Palm Bay Florida....it was a lot of walking/woods/nature and we had a great time. Somewhere in that time, I almost sat on a mini cactus (that woulda realllly hurt) and cut my leg really good on a nub branch in the ground. As I always say, I will do anything to get the shot.....and this is what I did.....It was worth it...but here it is:

this was after it happened..... above and below

This was 2 days after...brusing nicely :) above and below

What's in the bag????

I figured since I have gotten a few emails about what I use and the equipment I currently have, I would just make a blog post about it.

Right now, I am missing a few things...but don't fret...They will be in my hands by the end of next year.

So here we go, This is what I currently have and use all the time:

My bag

The new bag that I will have by the end of this year:

The 2 camera bodies that I have:

The Canon 20D and the Canon 50D

My Lenses:

This would be the Canon 24-70mm F 2.4 L series Lens

This is the 70-200mm F 2.4 Image Stabilizer L series lens
This is the Canon 85mm F1.8 lens (not L series but is awesome)

And this is one of my favorites, The Canon 50mm F 1.4 lens (also not L series but also amazing)

My Meter/various other little things:

Battery Chargers x4

Batteries x4

Circular Polarizer

My light meter Seckonic L 358

UV filter x2

My Flashes:

Canon 580 Ex Flash

This was my first one and still use it just fine The Canon 550EX Flash....they do not make this anymore

Lighting Equipment:

My Pocket Wizard Radio Slaves x2

My Lightstand bag (the other bag I lug around )

Westcott Air Cushioned light stand

Photogenic umbrella

5 in 1 reflectors

one of my tripods by Slik

lens hoodx2

other lens hood x2

There are other little things here and there that are in there, but they are cords and things like that, so no point in posting photos of those.

Here is the lens I should have soon (by the end of next year)

The Canon 16-35mm F2.8 L series lens

I rent this all the time for various shoots and love it so soon enough, it will be mine! Mwahaha...okay just kidding.

Well, I think that's about it for now. Next year, I will have newer and improved things and will update again I'm sure.

Love and Smiles,
Amanda
